Here I Am!

This was a good day - celebratory, you may even say, if you were to also follow Kelly's blog. So we got into the city today and, after spending a great length of time experiencing the confusing one-way streets and lack of parking spaces that make up New York City, arrived at our...um...humble dwelling. I discovered that my room at the 305 is located 4 excruciating flights up - I hope I'll get over this minor setback, but only time can tell. After Rob and I moved everything in, he promptly headed out and Kelly and I were left to get things in order...5 hours later, we were ready to hit up the town.

We decided to stop by the lottery for 9 to 5, because it closes on Sunday and everyone loves Allison Janney. In my way, I was sure we would not win (the odds were roughly 50:1)...but I was pleasantly suprised to hear Kelly's name called out. The show was pretty alright, but the three leading ladies - Allison Janney (of Drop Dead Gorgeous fame - yes, that is her best work), Stephanie J. Block, and Megan Hilty - were phenomenal. Not a bad way to start of my fall theatre experience...which I assure you there will be much more of.

And finally, we of course made a stop by the TKTS booth in Times Square. I was hesitant about this whole no traffic in Times Square thing, but it's actually not so bad - cars still drive on one side of the street, and the other is reserved for pedestrians. Good decision, New York City - I approve.

I have no idea what else we plan on doing in New York, but at some point we need to buy groceries, which is a foreign concept to me. As is the cooking of the groceries. I guess I'll just feel my way through for a while...wish me luck. Till next time, peace out.
